Sports history
„Black-White Doessel“ in the fifties
The sports club „Black-White Doessel“ was founded shortly
after the Second World War. In friendly games against former inmates of
the POW camp some of the polish players turned out to be so good that they
were allowed to support the team and helped to win quite a few more games.
The fifties brought the game to a standstill. In 1960 the „Sports club
Doessel 1960 registered club“ was founded. As early as 1962 the team was
promoted to the first district divison. The thrilling german football association’s
cup game against the country division team BV Bad Lippspringe which ended
3:3 in 1966 was a sensation. In 1967 after the 4:1 triumph over the county
division team SV Heide Paderborn the team was described as „one of the
most feared teams of the first district division.
The principal SCD football team in the sixties
On the occasion of local elections in 1964 the team entered
the lists against ordinary political parties. 250 votes resulted in 2 seats
in the municipal council. In 1971 the „Poplar’s stadium“ extended by terraces
could be inaugurated.
In their most successful season 1977/78 the SCD managed
the re-promotion to the first district division, the first municipal championship
and the triumph of six cup finals in running. The division’s top scorer
was Doessels Georg Morcinek who scored 41 goals during the season 1980/81
alone and 102 goals in three year’s time.
In 1972 a women’s department within the SCD was launched.
This department consisting of 40 women from Roesebeck and Doessel devotes
among other things to women’s gymnastics and to biking and walking tours.

In 1985 the „Doessel tennis club 85“ was founded. Elected
as first chairman was Franz-Josef Sommer. In 1988 the tennis grounds built
up by the members own hands consisting of two sand courts could be inaugurated.
In Doessel tennis really boomed. In 1989 the club’s membership had increased
to beyond 100. Between 1990 and 1992 the members erected again by their
own hands a club house.
In 1992 the girl’s junior team were promoted to the First
district league, the men’s senior team managed the same in 1993. In 1997
also the women’s team were promoted. The same year Daniel Guethoff and
his sister Carolin both won the Warburg municipal championships in their
age group.
Young talents of the TC 85 tennis club
Reasons for the success are intensive support of
the talented youth as well as a nearly familiar club feeling. Outings and
bicycle tours enrich the club spirit.
